I am excited about being part of the CORENET team to raise funds for Outward Bound, something near and dear to my heart. My son, Billy, became involved with Outward Bound when he was 16 years old. He did a 21-day outdoor challenge course in Massachusetts. He finished that, saying “it was the hardest thing he had done, but the most rewarding.”
The program taught her son and his group how to become leaders to help each other achieve their common goals. They learned the valuable lessons of teamwork and no man left behind. After successfully completing his Massachusetts course, Billy was accepted into a leadership program in Maryland. During his trip, he had earned a 4 point pin, a high honor among Outward Bound participants.
Billy passed away in a car accident the following year. This Over the Edge challenge gives me the opportunity to give back and help other kids have the same opportunity Billy did to help change his life!
