ARE YOU READY TO GO OVER THE EDGE?
Take to the skies with us on Thursday, October 20th and Friday, October 21st for the Philadelphia Outward Bound School's annual high-adrenaline fundraiser – Building Adventure. For the past four years, Mayor Nutter and other politicians, Philadelphia business leaders, sports icons, students, teachers and local area youth have participated. This year’s adventure is 29 stories down Brandywine Realty Trust’s Commerce Square Building in Center City, Philadelphia. Now in its fifth year of thrilling philanthropy, Building Adventure is designed to reflect Philadelphia Outward Bound School’s mission to change lives through challenge and discovery, and replicates our organization’s innovative youth development work. Participants bravely mirror what POBS’ outdoor education programs encourage young people to do every day: challenge themselves, discover untapped potential, and use it to make positive change in the world.
No experience needed. Physical and technical training not necessary.
FUNDRAISING MINIMUMS
When you register for Building Adventure, your commitment is to yourself and to the Philadelphia Outward Bound School. Each participant must raise a minimum of $2,000 to rappel. All proceeds go to benefit the programs of the Philadelphia Outward Bound School.
SAFETY
Outward Bound has been a leader in wilderness safety and risk management for 50 years. The Philadelphia Outward Bound School partners with Over The Edge to deliver this event and ensure maximum safety. Every Over the Edge event is set up as an industrial worksite and as a result, it is compliant with all federal and state OSHA Fall Protection Standards and State Laws. Further, our policies and procedures adhere to the best practices identified by the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians or “SPRAT”. All Over the Edge sites have highly trained industrial rope specialists, with vast experience in the industrial rope access and the adventure industries.
